Nelli is our three-year-old tabby and self-appointed Empress of the Household. Officially a “foster fail,” she swiftly claimed the throne and made herself permanent. Sassy, sometimes standoffish, and highly selective, she only allows snuggles on her terms—and on her binky. Mom and Dad are good. Everyone else? Subject to her rules… and occasional disdain. Bow accordingly.

A year later, hoping Nelli might tolerate a roommate, we welcomed Nash—a grey-and-white tuxedo cat who is basically a walking heart emoji. Pure sweetness in fur form, he’s endlessly playful, impossibly affectionate, and always ready to snuggle. Bonus: he’s also our fearless bug slayer. While Nelli rules the roost with sass and independence, Nash answers to playtimes and cuddles, bringing warmth, laughter, and balance to our household.

Though they aren’t biologically related, Nelli and Nash share a special bond—they were both rescues, adopted through Little Wanderers, a NYC nonprofit that helps cats find their forever homes.
